Chalkboard Decals Ph (as low as 40php with free chalks)

I have been browsing for the past months on available chalkboard decals or stickers that can be used as a wall decor.  Yes, I'm able to find some in known stores in the Philippines but, alas!, they range from 200 php to 1000php. With this in mind, I decided to just create my own version of it, with my own patterns in mind --borders and kawaii designs have been incorporated for additional charm.

So I'm sharing with you my chalkboard decals. Very affordable, and this will help you post your inspirational messages, decorate your walls or crafting nooks, and provide an area for your kids to doodle or draw whatever they want.

By the way, all the planning was inspired by the lovely notebook I got from Spellbound.

Washi Tapes at Fully Booked!

After our Sunday stroll, we decided to drop by at Fully Booked (BGC) to look for Beautiful Creatures books. And my crafting instinct is telling me to check if they got washi tapes. So, after I succumbed to my nagging crafting conscience, that's when I decided to check their art supplies section, and tadaaan, there they were -- glorious MT washi tapes of different designs. From plain, to polka dots to laces, to stripes, oh they were all so lovely.

So on my next trip to Fully Booked, it will be a craft shopping mission, and I'll be so ready to hoard the MT washi tapes for my next craft project. Happy that I don't have to order online to get hold of them -- as they are so readily available now in Manila, Ph. :)

Brown Watching Over Washi

Brown (a Line app doll I got during their launch here in Manila) is so focused in coming up with ideas how to guard the mt washi tape collection (ordered from Heima Store Philippines)!

Could be a tough job, I bet. Good thing is, the cuteness of these washi tapes will cheer him up at the end of the day. ♥

Kettle Korn: Poppin’ Fun All The Time!

I have a soft spot for chick flicks and feel good movies. So,if I have to let my imagination fly and let my daydreaming urge have it's way, here's a movie that I'm plotting if I have to star in it. And to have that feel good vibe, it's going to be a romantic comedy.

Will make sure though that it's not too mushy, with little or no cringing part -- just the right dosage of cheesiness that can make one 'kilig'. In that movie, I will know how to sing ( and yes, in real life, I'm a member of the frustrated singers club, haha!). So, I'm a singer in a small cafe (as this is inspired by a recent fave Caroline Glaser of The Voice). And it would be in the romantic and beautiful city of Paris. While watching the sunset, and scribbling lyrics for a new song I'm writing, a handsome man with curly hair and chocolate brown eyes will captivate me not just with his looks but also with his voice. And a great coincidence is that he is humming a song out of what I'm writing which he can't see as he is sitting on a bench across mine. Bumping on each other from then on, he will then explain that he has been dreaming of those lyrics recently. Turns out that it's sweet destiny and the movie will pick up from there. And of course, a happy ending it is.

So that will be me if I'm in a movie or if I'm to produce one. While doodling all the works for this movie, munching some yummy snacks now (Kettle Korn butter) is successfully giving my brain cells a creative push. Every movie worth watching will need a match of munch worthy snack like popcorn. Kettle Korn delivers that as each popcorn is bursting with crisp goodness.

So, one day, fingers crossed, my imaginative movie will be produced. If that thing is uncertain, this other thing is definitely for sure -- I'll always have yummy Kettle Korn and I'll always be ready to poppin' munch on!

10a Alabama Craft Fair : Loots and Adventures

April 14, 2013 ♥ After deciding impulsively, my sister and I hopped on a cab and went to 10a Alabama in Quezon city. We knew when we are almost there since we can see people who were carrying dolls, crafts and  treasure finds. The event was held in a simple and humble place, and we're welcomed by two cats.

Once we saw the booths, all loaded with goods, we grinned so wide it may have reached our ears (and we may have been smiling the whole time we were there). Indeed, it was a craft haven and we had a shopping adventure we'll never forget.

Several talented crafters were there, who were so accommodating in explaining the goods and creations they have, such an ease talking to them since they were all friendly and all-smiles. There were tons of eye-candies and I resisted having a little piece of everything because if I do, that means I'll have to walk back home. So I sticked to my budget and explored all the booths there.

Kawaii Thank you Note / Envelope Tutorial

Recently, I was so touched by the efforts of our colleagues during a team building. Decided then to make something with lots of love to show them how much they were appreciated.

Sharing to you a guide of how to make a kawaii paper envelope that can hold sweets, letters or notes. For the thank you gift I created, I filled them with chocolates. A sweet unexpected thank you gift for sweet, caring persons.

Should you want to make them, you'll need: twine, thank you notes (from Kind Over Matter), poster paper, stationery and washi tapes

  • Follow thru the pics to see how it's done.

Saturday Giveaway

What a busy week it has been. While my crafting hormones have been urging me to keep movin' and start those projects, have decided instead to test first my graphics tool for design and editing tasks in the future.

Will make it a pattern on this blog to provide a give away every week. And here's a first, a free polka dots graphics:

This can be blamed on my washi obsession. Their cute patterns are always popping in my mind.

You can use the graphics for personal or commercial purposes (wallpaper, stationery, crafts, cards and the likes). Please don't claim the image as yours and resell it as a whole graphics. A link back to HappyRainKisses site is greatly appreciated.

Happy craftin'!

Happy beginnings...

I'm so excited to start, all giddy to finally put this up and make this work.
This time around, I'm trying to avoid my old habit -- starting projects, will dilly dally before I decide to finish them, or worse, not finishing them at all.

So, with that in mind, I already started stalking tons of blogs which has great content and inspiring ideas. Will update my blog list real soon so I can share the links of those blogs too. Hopefully, I can join craft workshops here in Manila, go to craft fairs and be a member of the handmade movement -- with a global reach.

startin'...

With the fast- paced and technology dominated world that we have, getting in touch with the creative side and trusting to make something out of our creativity, will help us live in the present -- and appreciate the gifts that we have.

Until next time!
